"During the early days of the pandemic, Tessa began making tiny, colourfully glazed ceramic houses, directly in response to the advice to “Stay Home and Stay Safe.” This new and very different way of thinking of daily life that everyone, all over the world, was being asked to accept, seemed to the artist to be calling her to respond with a brand new kind of art practice. Like Roughly Square, the small houses have become an interactive piece, inviting viewers to move the houses around and make up their own stories about who might be living in them."
